An Accident Isn't Always a BAD Thing

Well after Jay's lose of our "Red" car, as the kids called it we were blessed to find our new ride, the "Big" car within a month's time.  This find from Craig's List has a great interior, fully loaded (DVD player for the kids long trips) and flow masters so that everyone knows that we are coming :)  and it is 2years newer than the Allero with less miles but sad to say about the same gas mileage but we could get an upgrade in all areas that we wanted.  We are LOVING the space and realizing change IS a good thing sometimes!!

what once was is now gone

Well my red car died.  It was a great car that we have taken coast to coast on vacation and moves over the years.  I must say it is sad to see it go.

February was Full of Smiles and Love

Sarah was the "Star of the Week" and got to decorate a poster all about her. She loved the moment to shine and of course as you can see her poster was all about "pink" and "Princesses" because that is our Sarah!! She is our Princess!Ashlyn was ready to play at a friend's birthday party! She is a careful dare-devil and loves to explore with curiousity. She has grown so much lately!Colton's 2nd grade class got to go see a "Junie B. Jones" play at the local college and I went along as a chaperone. It was fun to spend time with Colton and watch a childhood book come to life. Colton has joined our ward's Cub Scout group and gets so excited to go to his troop meetings when he can make it. He has already earned 2 belt loops, pretty impressive!!Sarah LOVES school and learning but she is most impressive at dramatic imaginary play! Also recently she informed me that when she grows up she wants to be a make-up artist! COOL!

BaSkEtBaLl with UPWARD Sports

Upward Sports Program has been so great to be a part of, as Colton has enjoyed playing basketball with a few of his karate buddies. This year the baskets got higher and the competition a bit harder!
Colton's basketball skills have really improved and his personal level of competitiveness came out this year. He is gaining a good sense for the game and is able to read the court which is an ability is fun to watch in a player! And he was always ready to defend those BIG kids on the other teams and boy does he put the pressure on!!
Sarah was always there to cheer her brother on and strike a pose for the camera!! But her favorite activity at the basketball games was getting a donut and playing games on Jay's phone.
As for Ashlyn, she was always there for the ride usually in her stroller eating snacks or breakfast but always waiting eagerly for me to let her out of the stroller! She is so independent and forgets she is not as old as her brother and sister!
Colton is already talking about playing basketball again! He really enjoys the sport and that makes Jay excited! We will see if Jay continues to coach. Jay is really good at teaching the kids the skills to be good basketball players!

IT HAS BEEN A LONG YEAR!

I apologize to all my friends and family! It has been a long year not a lot of change but certainly busy! But the kids have grown tremendously in all sorts of ways!

To follow will be posts from the past few months, we are starting fresh with 2012!! I know it is fun to watch the kids grow and feel apart of their activities!

We send our LOVE and appreciate all the love and support we feel from each of you! God bless and enjoy the updates!

Baby Angel Girl!

Ashlyn is truly our Angel girl. She is full of smiles and the most precious giggle as well, she is sweet and loving. But don't get me wrong she is determined and vocal but she wouldn't be an Oman if she wasn't at least a little head strong. Ashlyn has entered the area of track and field at age 9mos. This weekend she entered the Huggies Diaper Dash crawling contest at Babiesrus.
Daddy put her down at the starting line and it was...
On your Mark, Get Set, GO!
Let's Crawl...
Ashlyn crawled her very best and won 1st place, a $10 gift card prize and a chance to race in the Grand Champion race for a bigger prize.
She raced again and left the other babies in the dust to get to Mom at the finish line and to get her puffy treats that she just loves. She was all smiles the whole way and the whole family was cheering her on, GO ASHLYN!
You guessed it, Ashlyn was 1st in the Grand Champion Diaper Dash race and she won 3 months supply of Huggie diapers (a $125 value). We are so proud of our sweet baby girl. She is a focused crawler and it was a fun experience.
Not only is she crawling but pulling herself up on everything and walking along the couch and cabinets. We estimate to have another walker anytime soon.
She is also into everything. And I mean Everything!! If Sarah or Colton are playing she wants to be a part and is sure to destroy and pull things down. Man she is fast!
Yea COLTON! Doesn't she look like a little cheerleader? Too cute!
It is amazing how quickly time goes by when you have a baby. They grow and develop right before your eyes yet at times you feel like if you blink you might miss something. She has brought lots of joy to our home and family.

Our DIVA Princess!

Who ever knew that one little girl could be such a Diva at such a young age of 3 years old. Sarah has been a spit fire from day one and keeps us on our toes still, yet everyone tells us how sweet, loving and affectionate she is when we are not around. Here is Sarah preparing to go with me to help teach the youth in our ward how to dance! Ready to make a statement and get attention. Here I AM!

She is a SUPER STAR! Strike a pose!

Dolled up and fancy with her necklaces early Saturday morning. Unfortunately she wasn't there to watch her brother play basketball but play on daddy's phone and watch the little cheerleaders.

She is always all smiles at preschool. She has already learned to recognize her name and is working on writing her S and O. She has also learned her friends first and last names. Here she is all comfy for "Pajamama Day." The kids had their blankets, pillows and PJs sprawled all over the floor to watch some of their favorite shows while the parents prepared a yummy breakfast.

Fancy skirt to make the outfit of a Diva Princess and to finish the outfit off she is wearing a multi-colored feather mask from a Birthday party. I love her latest pose with the hip out and hands out and up. Not to mention that this pose is just the first step of her little strut when she walks, too. She has such a personality and at least we all get a laugh from this little Diva.

Our Little Man!

Colton is growing up so quickly. He is becoming a very bright, ambitious and athletic little boy who has such a sweet and kind disposition. Colton is a diligent student. Even though reading is not his favorite thing to do(he'd rather be outside running, biking or playing) he still continues to work at it and is getting better all the time. On the other hand though he loves to write and he fills a page very quickly with every assignment. He has a creative mind with a great imagination.

Colton is currently playing basketball with some of his karate buddies with the "Upward" sports program at a local church in the area. He hustles and works hard out on the court. And is really aggressive but who would have expected that from a son of Jay?! Most of all he is having a Blast!

SHooT - 2 points for the TIGERS

Jay is even helping Coach this year and really enjoying being involved with the basketball program because as he tells Colton(everytime he asks which sport is Jay's favorite) basketball is his favorite sport because you can go out and shoot and dribble all by yourself anytime.

But even though Colton is playing other sports and gearing up for Little League baseball, machine pitch this year, he still works on his flexibility for karate to keep his edge. He is working to train for competitions this year.

Family and Friends

The greatest and most memorable part of the holidays is always those moments with family and friends that you treasure and hold close to your heart. Can you believe that there are three generations sitting together.
We are so grateful for the time we got to spend with Great-Grandpa because little did we know at the time but he work here on this earth was to come to an end soon. Grandpa was a man of strength and love and he had an influence on all around him, even the young.
His energy and love was felt anytime you were near him. We love Grandpa and know that he is busy doing the work the Lord needs him to do and watching over each of us here.
Grandma is a sure delight as well. She is full of so much LOVE and never hestitates to share hugs and tender touches with all others around her.
We also got the chance to visit our dear friends that had moved away from California back to Utah. We miss them so much but it was fun to catch up and see how well things are going for them and meet their new friends. The kids played together as if no time had pasted.
Sarah and Colton took every chance they could to get their Aunt Lora to play games with them. Monopoly was one favorite and Aunt Lora had lots of patience with both kids and took the time to teach Colton even more about the game. He is becoming quite skilled at board games.
We also got to spend quality time with Uncle Brandon and Aunt Nicole. It was so nice for them to adventure out into the cold, wet and snowy weather to come see us night after night. We truly enjoy the time we get to spend with them. They have such a great glow and spirit about them that everyone can feel around them and the kids love that too.
After all the activities and getting to visit everyone we love the kids were absolutely pooped out!! Ashlyn was sleeping too, in her car seat. Jay and I were talking and enjoying the peace and hoping the little nap would sustain the kids for another afternoon.
We hope our family and friends know how much we love them and miss them even across the many miles. We wish we got to see everyone more often. But we hope they all know they are in our thoughts and prayers always!!

Sledding in the SNOW

One of our families favorite activities when visiting Utah in the winter is going sledding in the snow. Living in California, we don't get too much snow and Colton and Sarah were ecstatic to see snow. The first day we were there they went running out into the snow wanting to play put there had not been a fresh snow for a few days. So the snow had melted and hardened up again and was like a rock, needless to say they were a bit disappointed. But not to worry we got plenty of snow. Everyone bundled up to head out to the snow. The whole family was there for at least a short portion of time, enough to get a few pictures. Ashlyn didn't last too long for several reasons. One she was cold due to not having appropriate shoes or gloves and two she wanted down to crawl.
Colton was the dare devil. Eager to go again and again and to go fast. He was wanting to go snowboarding, maybe next trip to Utah. We will just have to wait and see. He is out sportsman.
Every moment was giggles and laughs for Sarah. Once she got the courage up to go out on the sled she was unstoppable. And it always helps to have a buddy along for the ride.
Even in the snow she is decked out in pink. It took some convincing to get her to wear Colton's old snow boots which are black because those are "boys" snow boots. But she wanted to play in the snow pretty bad so she gave in. Who new snow was so convincing?!
There he goes on the fastest sled he could find. I am pretty sure that he tested out eah different kind because who wants to go slow. And surprising enough as he went down the hill he was spinning in circles. He spun in circles over the summer when he was buggy boarding, too.

Holiday Trip

We made a trip to Utah after Christmas to visit Family and had a FAnTasTiC time!

Ashlyn didn't waste any time exploring her new terrain and getting into anything and everything that she could find.

While we were there with the whole family we even had some family pictures taken. Jay and I took the chance to have a great snap shot of us taken. I am a lucky girl to have such a good look'n and incredible man at my side.

The kids jumped in as always to help Grandpa out with the cows. There was even a baby calf born during our visit that the kids got to see from a distance of course.

There was lots of playing with cousins at their houses as well as at Grandma and Grandpa's house. And everyday the kids were thrilled to get out and play in the wet, cold snow.

Cousins had fun dressing up and playing pretend.

While on the other days they braved the cold and build an incredible snowman. I was sure he was going to
come alive with the bucket on his head.

The boys worked really hard to roll the right size of snowball to make their snowman oh so tall.

Sarah was an expert at mini snowballs and miniature snowgirls.

Colton was eager to try his hand at sledding and anything that involved going fast down a hill. No fear!

The girls were full of giggles and smiles every step of the way. Of course the snowy, cold toes did bring some small frowns but those frowns always quickly turned upside down.

The sighting of the Oman princesses where every where during the holidays. And they were always ready to strike a pose for the camera. They are not a shy bunch. Pretty, pretty Princesses!

Playing Wii was certainly a favorite activity for all the cousins and with their favorite aunt non-the-less. And they all got their excercise as well while they played "Let's Dance." That was entertaining to spectators as well.

Here is a picture of Colton and Michael tearing up the dance floor.

Introducing Mr. Snowman 2010

Ashlyn didn't join in on the snow or dancing so much but she was a fan of traveling well at least destroying the suitcases.

With all the things the kids were doing and everyone they got to spend time with it was a wonderful trip and we feel so blessed to have had the chance to travel to Utah this holiday season.
