One of the wonderful things about California and Lake Tahoe is the fact that you can find beautiful beach and majestic mountains just 10minutes apart. Lake Tahoe was so much fun and needless to say gorgeous.
The kids had so much fun getting dirty in the sand, Colton even convinced Jay to walk out into the freezing cold water with him. We also went on a hike and tracked into snow.
We are indebted to our friends for including us on the trip to Lake Tahoe. We had such a fantastic time and are now sure fans of Lake Tahoe vacationing. We wish we had more pictures to share but our camera stopped working the first day there. Bummer!

Water, Water, Water
Last Day of Preschool
In February we changed Preschools from one local school to a church sponsored school called the Wee 5's program. It was the greatest change we could have made for Colton. He was blessed with a fabulous teacher, Mrs. G and classmates that quickly accepted him into the class as if he had always been there. The school was so welcoming and truly felt like where we were supposed to be. We miss everyone and look forward to Sarah's experiences there, too.
Sarah even made friends at Colton's preschool, with the other sisters.
Colton was always SMILES when it came to Preschool.
Mrs. G was a teacher who went the extra mile, here Mrs. G was reading quotes from a notebook that she put together for Colton, and each other student.
On the last day of school the kids had a "Water" day and got to hold class outside. The kids started everyday singing with Mrs. G on her guitar.
We are sad that preschool is over but we are thrilled that Colton is now a Kindergartner and will be starting school again at the end of July.
Fun in the Sun with Friends
Colton and his friend Kylee had lots of Fun on the 1st 100degree day of 2009. They ran around in the sprinklers but then thought it would more fun to take turns in the mini pool we have. No wait that is not a pool it is a 10gal. bucket. But it certainly created enough fun as a Pool. Kids are amazing the way anything can become fun.
Warming up on the HOT concrete before taking another dive!
Friends are such a JOY!
The Beginning of Summer and Days at the Park
The best part about summer is certianly the time spent at the park. We are blessed to have some really great parks all around us. Any park with swings is a hit for Sarah and Colton has become a pro at the monkey bars and climbing.
Here Colton, our fearless Jedi, is using a bubble wand as his lightsaber to protect Sarah, our precious princess, from the Clone Troopers high in the tower.
Loves to climb!!
Sarah is a proud owner of her very own bike. We are still working on the pedaling but she is getting much better.
Our trip to Utah for Morgan's Graduation
Morgan finished his classes and walked in BYU April Graduation, so we made the trek to Utah to be apart of the celebration. And come to find out his wife, Crystal, also walked with him which was a pleasant surprise even though she won't be done with classes until after fall semester. But how much fun would it be to walk in the BIG graduation at BYU with your spouse. Congradulations to Morgan and Crystal, we are so proud of them.
These are two brother that have a great bond and I am proud to call them my brothers and my kids love their uncles!!
On our way home we stopped at a random Pizza joint for a break from the car and some food for our bellies. The kids enjoyed the entertainment, Sarah on the lion and ...
Colton was doing some hunting. It is amazing the joys that come from a few quarters.
Then it was on the road again and trying to get back to California as fast as possible because the car is only so much fun for the kids and it was a shorter trip than usual. But well worth it because we got to see our Grandma and Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nana, too. We love being able to see family and treasure everyone who is so special to us.

Annual Hansen Family Easter Egg Hunt
Once again this year we enjoyed the Hansen Family's Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt! Sarah and Colton both had a great time and found lots of eggs!
Sarah is always smiling when it comes to candy!

The eggs were hidden HIGH and low.
Jay even enjoys the festivities with the kids! He is a great seeker! We all are just kids at heart!
The eggs were hidden HIGH and low.
